Mahdad

Position at the T-House: Work-Out instructor, host Walk-in Thursday
Pronouns: He/Him
Languages: Persian, Dutch B1

On Thursdays, the temperature rises a bit around 10 o’clock.

Exercising is quite difficult for many transgender people. Where can I change? Where can I go to the toilet? Will people look at me strangely, or worse, make comments? That is one problem we experience, but another problem we see with many people in the trans community, is not having a job. A sports’ membership is then difficult to pay for (in addition to the often already existing medical costs to meet the requirements of the binary cisgender society.)

Mahdad believes that everyone should be able to exercise, which is why his whole life is dedicated to work his body (and mind.)
On Thursday mornings he gives an hour of fitness with your own body weight. There are mats, elastic bands and light weights available in the Transhuis, so if you come in comfortable clothing, possibly with a towel, you are more than welcome to join in. Mahdad is an official fitness instructor, but his lesson on Thursdays in the Transhuis, is free. (Needless to say, his advice is priceless.)
